Our son is 8 and a pirate freak, so any toy that is cheap and he doesn't have is good. He loves this one and like most 8 year old boys is hard on his toys. So far it has held up to him, his sister ripping it away, and his little brother stepping on it. I would highly recommend it to any pirate loving kid.
