Iron Man Rocket Boost Iron Man Review

My son is 4 years old, so he has never seen either of the Iron Man movies. However, due to media merchandising and having older cousins, he is enamored with the character. It seems little boys and super heroes are meant to be together. So as a reward for good behavior, we got him this Iron Man toy. We picked this one because it has a more cartoon-like appearance and doesn't have any small parts for his younger sister to choke on. He LOVES this toy and has taken him everywhere. The only thing that is frustrating to him is the fact that the wings/rocket pack thing pop off a little too easily. I think they are only held on magnetically and are constantly falling off when he plays with it. Other than that, it's very cute, makes a bunch of sounds and lights up (but isn't too loud or obnoxious). We've been using the phrase "hero up" quite a lot these days to get him to remember that he needs to behave and not have any tantrums. We're happy with the purchase.

My wife and I have been looking for a talking Buzz for our daughter, who is just obsessed with `Toy Story'. I stumbled upon this one by accident, and it was just perfect. We didn't want one too big, as Buzz is bulky and rather rough and our daughter wants to hug and cuddle him. We debating getting her a plush doll, but she really wanted one that talked. This little Buzz (no bigger than a bulky action figure) is just perfect for what she wanted. He is small enough for her to carry around and even hug (nothing here that is going to poke out her eye) yes he TALKS. Granted, he only says about three things, but when you press that button words come out of his voice box! I also like the fact that his wings come off. My daughter was a tad upset that his visor thing doesn't come down, but she got over it pretty fast. Another plus here is that this Buzz is pretty cool looking. I like the bulky look here...he has a cartoonish quality to him that is fresh and exciting.

I read some of the other reviews of this product and though they were mostly negative the problems discussed did not sound insurmountable. When I opened it up, I was pleasantly surprised. The play mat is very thin plastic but it lay mostly flat the first time. As I opened the other pieces I laid several volumes of my encyclopedia of philosophy on it to further flatten it. It could not have taken me more than 10 minutes to open and assemble the other bridge pieces and two figures we'd bought to go with it. When I removed the books at that time, the play mat was almost entirely flat.

We had no difficulty placing the other pieces on the bridge, or making figures stand in various locations.

My son, who is 5, loves it. He has uttered no complaints. I sat and played with him twice yesterday, and I have to say that in my opinion it's a very nice toy. It is true that you do not get a complete bridge, but you know that going in, if you can read. It says so on the box. It also says the bridge is a play mat. Now while a 5-year-old can be a bit clumsy when there are a lot of pieces in the way of his figures, at least they fall over rather than break. And a fallen console can be easily replaced. And let's be honest, what kid does not like a fight out battles and destroy things? They do it in the movies, after all.

The main view screen is a thing of beauty. A big image of the Romulan vessel fills it and when it is backlit (we have it facing the patio door) it's very realistic. There are two data screens as well and they also have nice graphics on them. The captain's "center seat" and the helm and navigation stations are nicely detailed and helps hold down the center of the mat and any ridges from its folding. The Kirk figure sits reasonably snugly in his seat or can sit in for Sulu, and I had no problem making his right hand grab the control in front of him.

I look forward to seeing the rest of the pieces produced, and crew members, for a fully equipped and manned bridge. I recommend this toy. For an adult, a lovely diorama could be made, but kids, if they're anything like mine, will love playing with it, destroying it, and setting it up again.

Let me describe this thing.

This is a meaty truck.

Large and heavy. I got this for my 3 yr old although box says 5+. Really perfect for a 3 yr old except for the hefty weight when held in the gun position.

My 3 yr old loves the sounds and sayings even though he isn't into Transformers. In gun mode, pressing the buttons yields 4 spoken sayings. Pressing the triggers generates a shooting sound.

In truck the button does motorized sounds.

It's easy to convert from truck to gun and back. It's one quick motion of holding the two handles on the truck. But again heavy to hold as a gun for a younger than 5 yr old. And not something a 3 yr old can quite transform yet.

Sounds are loud. But my 3 yr old imitates the spoken lines which is a hilarious.

Unit overall is durable, but there are 2 plastic flaps that came off quickly as others mentioned. WE just left them off. You don't really notice them off.

In truck mode it's pretty much unbreakable. In gun mode there's more of a chance of damaging 2 parts that stay "flapped out" if you were to drop the gun on pavement or step on it if it's on the ground, but overall solid and so far so good.

Schleich Stegosaurus Review

I ordered this Stegosaurus and a Schleich 1:40 scale Allosaurus for my daughter. She's currently in a dinosaur phase, although larger dino toys scare her.

The Stegosaurus is not a small toy (I had to show my daughter the toy prior to Christmas to make sure she wasn't afraid of it), but it isn't overly large either. These Stegosaurs are a good size - my daughter can pick them up and hold on to them, but they're not small enough to be lost in the corner of a toy box or under the bed.

The toy is very nicely detailed, suitable for use in a diorama or school science project... while also being a great toy. The sags and folds that were modeled in the skin are reminiscent of modern-day rhinos or elephants. I also appreciate the red-hued "sails" on the stegosaur's back (since paleontologists speculate that the animals had many blood vessels along those plates & used them for heat dissipation... not that the plates were necessarily red in "real life", but they are a neat reminder of their real-life purpose). It is a nicely rendered & imaginative depiction of what a Stegosaurus might have looked like.

Overall, I actually like the 1:40 scale Allosaurus better than this 1:40 scale Stegosaurus. While the Allosaurus has more character to it, this one seems to carry more of a natural history lesson to it than the more "modern lizard"-like Allosaurus. Definitely recommended if your children are into dinos & you're not just looking for a toy.

Both of them have a lot of detail and are well made.

I don't actually own this toy, but I used it extensively at a friend's house. We were shooting a student film about gangsters for our senior project and needed prop weapons to use; luckilly, my friend had this toy rifle! It's small enough for a kid, although not tiny (it still looked convincing in our student film). However, if you are older than around 12 the shoulder strap will probably not fit you at all (it can be unscrewed and removed if you choose).

Now, the most important thing about this toy is its duribility. Growing up in the 90's, I'm pretty used to cheap plastic toys made in China. Even licenced toys, like Star Wars Stormtrooper rifles, are made out of plastic, so it was a breath of fresh air to see that they still make toys out of wood and metal. It is equally impressive that gun toys are still being made--it seems as if few stores even stock them any more, which is a shame. If you are looking for a gift for a kid who has an interrest in weapons, war history, or the old west, this would be a great gift. Also good for a kid's Halloween costume, although make sure the orange tip can be seen.

Lastly, one of the coolest features of the trainerrifle is the functioning bolt action. It works (presumably) just like a real rifle, and is very sturdy. If it could stand up to a bunch of high school guys repeatedly racking back the bolt, I'm sure it can withstand the roughest play.

Recently bought all (4) movies to share with my sons. My 5yr-old has especially been smitten by the "Indiana" bug. So last week I bought this truck for a Christmas present.

It arrived yesterday, so I took it out to give it a once-over. I was disappointed to find that some of the claims in the product description are false.
1. Did not have a "Break-through window"
2. Did not have a "Break-away door"
3. Does not come with a "Removable ark"

The directions only confirm the wind-up whip attached to the rear of the truck and the break-away grille. I see the hand grips are visible in the canopy and a figure should be able to ride on the sides of the vehicle with a little maneuvering.

Looks like a lot of fun and somewhat durable. We'll see...

I have her wand in her hand, and pointing at the bedroom door. If a Bellatrix fan doesn't own this product, I recomend they get it!

As a fan of the movie WALL-E and of robots in general, I have to say I'm pleased with this figure of EVE! It's large (Six inches even, with the transparent stand attached), has decent articulation and is mostly screen accurate.

Her accessories (not including her gun arm, since that's more of an alternate version of her arm rather than something extra), a light bulb and blast-apart rock, aren't very well thought out though and seem rushed. The rock looks like a hunk of shiny chocolate that's been in the Sun too long rather than a geological feature. It probably would have been better to include one or two sets of alternate arms instead. Unlike other reviewers, I haven't experienced any technical malfunctions or durability issues; the doors and eyes work fine.

My only real complaint though is that the eyes are too dark a blue, they're more of a true blue rather than the glowing sky blue they should be. But all in all I think this is a well done action figure.

Hello,
I've had this toy for quite a while now, about two months. I purchase this item on a splurge, though I was indeed looking for a Joker. I found a couple of Joker toys on Amazon, from generic action figures, to bigger scale ones like the DC Direct and Hot Toys version, and I had to go with the Hot Toys version; I would like to note though that I never even heard of DC Direct or Hot Toys before I even searched on Amazon, I noticed there seemed to be a feud between buyers on which version was better.
Seems like the other buyers for the DX Joker have gotten all the details and features down about the toy, no point in repeating them. Two tiny problems I had with the toy is: the inside paint on the left handed glove peeled off a bit since I tried jamming the gun in there, not such a big deal since it comes with multiple hands, another issue was that the ball joints stick to the glove when trying to exchange for another set of hands, I had to end up using pliers just to pull out the ball joint, which is risky.
I had to put the toy back in the box though, since the package itself is not displayable, nor do I have a display box to put the toy in, it will get dusty easily.
Overall the toy is quite interesting to look at, as if it were a tiny piece of art, pretty realistic facial features, also the attire and accessories are quite neat; I like posing it with the string pulling on the pins of the grenades.
If you have the need to splurge, then by all means buy this version of The Joker. :)

Bought this dinosaur for my son's 3rd Birthday. He LOVES dinosaurs and this spinosaurus replica was perfect. Great detail and feel. Only negative is that my son wants to take it everywhere and the paint adhesion is not perfect. After less than a week there are small spots where the paint has come off (especially on the feet). Regardless I will continue to buy the Schleich replicas. I do not think there is a solution to an active boy playing with his toys.
